Hi.
I am trying to play DVD using Xine with XVideo (Composite and GLX are enabled) - and the DVD 'tearing' effect is very noticeable. Is there any way to decrease it/compensate without switching off the Composite and GLX? xvinfo reports that: "XV_SYNC_TO_VBLANK" (range 0 to 1) client settable attribute client gettable attribute (current value is 1) for this adapter. Video card is: GeForce 7600 GS, XOrg version is 7.1 Thanks in advance. |

Try turning off sync-to-vblank. With it on, the XV extension draws into the offscreen pixmap at vblank, and then the composite manager performs its composite operation in response to the damage event it gets some fixed time *after* vblank, leading to an annoying tear that's always in the same place.
