Can't get TV-Out + 2-monitors working

I have a working TwinView setup with two monitors, and I'm trying to also get TV out working on a separate X screen. I followed the guide at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...t=dual+monitor , which basically adds new Screen, Device, and Monitor sections for the TV.

I also tried modes like "800x600_60" and "1024x768_60" and the same thing happened.

Hm after reading some more it sounds like the nvidia drivers can't do what I'm trying to do.
But if anyone knows how I can use a TV and two 1600x1200 monitors simultaneously I'd love to know.

This is not possible. The NVIDIA X driver supports a maximum of two displays per GPU. You'll need another GPU for 3 displays.

Yes, its true for Windows as well. I can't comment on competitor's products.

Thanks much for the quick response! I did mean to be asking about NVIDIA GPUs, so I take that to mean all NVIDIA GPUs are limited to two displays (I had always wondered that). Thank you again!
