I want to get a new MB and CPU and Video - look at my specs, not the best of the best.
![]() I just been waiting and waiting to jump in to the new and latest stuff but i've come to realize I will be waiting forever because the technology just keeps getting better every 6 months. I have to jump in somewhere - why not now. I just want something not really expensive so it will hold me over till NV30, Hammer or even nforce2 which is right around the corner but I need some good feedback when it finally arrives before I buy that. Check this stuff out and tell me what ya think. thx ![]() I need a bargin board and I've read a lot of good reviews. SOYO KT333 DRAGON LITE from direct.mwave.com with a XP1600+ for $165 with Heatsink, fan plus shipping. Just AMD standard heatsink and fan. I have one now that came with my MB and it works great so I won't upgrade the heatsink just yet. With this memory: $91 ** I like the CAS 2-2-2 rating CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series CMX256A-2700C2 C2 256MB PC2700 DDR RAM Single-size FASTER 333MHz - OEM CMX256A-2700C2. DDR, PC2700 32x64, Non-ECC, 184-Pin, CAS2 -Unbuffered Requires DDR supported Motherboard - Lifetime Warranty. Model#: CMX256A-2700C2 -OEM Special Free FedEx Saver Shipping And Video: $88 Asus V8170 DDR Geforce 4 MX440 DDR 64mb TV outThe V8170DDR leverages the GeForce4 MX DDR GPU with 64MB DDR SDRAM to provide competitive performance and value for mainstream PCs. Lightspeed Memory Architecture II, nView, and Accuview Antialiasing. Specifications: Resolutions up to: 2048x1536 at 32bpp Chipset: NVIDIA® GeForce 4 MX 440 GPU RAMDAC: 350 Memory Clock: 400 Core Clock: 270 Vertical Refresh Rate: 60-240 Hz VGA outport: Standard 15-pin D-sub TV-out port: S-VHS & Composite I want a video card under $100. I don't have to spend like $150 for a card that has 128 MB right now. I believe this is a good card for the price. Any others that come to mind let me know. So what's your thoughts boys? good deal? I think so. I'm not up to par with the audio chips that have been coming out with the MB's. I could actually use this on board instead of my Audigy - is this wise? I don't think the sound on board is that advanced to let go of your sound card just yet. True?

UNLESS YOU BADLY WANT ALL NVIEW FEATURES...
I'd really recommend a Geforce 3 rather than those darn MX cards. You can find them for very very reasonable prices on pricewatch.com... - ragejg

GF4 TI4200 is only $120 and it's much much much more powerful than GF4 MX card.
