Default Painkiller BOOH 1.6.1 patch adds SM3.0 support?

Noticed this in the patch notes for the Painkiller BOOH 1.6.1 patch to be released today:

http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/for...threadid=24352

NEW: 1.5+ graphics engine updated (includes Shader Model 3.0 support).

Might be interesting to benchmark the game before and after the 1.6.1 patch is installed. Where can I find some timedemos for this game, and how do I benchmark ingame? Looking for BOOH expansion timedemos. Guess I could just do a fraps runthrough...

Maybe I'll record my own timedemo, anyone know the console commands for this game?

edit: damn, it looks like this patch is going to weigh in at over 300mb! also it appears timedemo functionality is changed.

I'll have to re-install it also, since I have not seen sm3.0 on my rig yet.

to benchmark:

open console (²)
demorecord name
demostop
timedemo name

It'll give fps in top left corner afterwards

brent at hardocp made a good point, its possible they only added sm3.0 to multiplayer and that sm3.0 was already in single player since the addition is in the multiplayer section. I got a corrupt patch from filefront, so got a good one from gamershell and now have to reinstall

seems like the patch makes little difference in singleplayer mode with all settings at high/ultra, guess sm3.0 was just added to multiplayer mode.

with sig rig, I can max out the ingame settings, but can only set the resolution to 1024x768.
