Why are computer enthusiasts sometimes still stereotypically refered to as geeks. I do believe that there are some real macho and strapping guys out there who are also computer enthusiasts and even on this forum (though I don't really believe it. On this forum??!!! ... Naaaaa.).
Would you classify yourself as a geek or a macho-man?

I'm not sure I'd classify myself as either... And yeah, stereotypes don't always hold...
On the one hand, I got my major in computers, and am looking at another there as well, and I've also gamed... On the other, I tended to do a bit of weight lifting, even when I was like 11 or 12 years old, study the martial arts, and the like... In either case, people's lives don't necessarily center around any one thing, in the exclusive... Many people on this forum are also both knowledgeable about, and likely work on/around computers and cars, so again as to the stereotypes...  |
