What's up with some more militent feminists (I take it), and their view of men?

OK, with the WoW servers down, I logged into Diablo II. Right in chat there was someone going on about how "all men and bumbling idiots, and women are smarter".

So I'm like, "Umm, there are both smart and dumb men, just as there are smart and dumb women". So she replies with some supposed "study" of hers (which she didn't even site, or mention where she got the thing from) that supposedly "conclusively proves that men are idiots, and women are the intelligent gender".

So as I listen to this, I take a few points, of course keeping in mind that everything she was trying to convince us all of had been presented as hearsay, with no reference given to any of this:

- The so-called "study", might or might not have had a representive sample, for those being tested

- Was the person conducting it open minded to whatever the results were, or was it their goal (perhaps a feminist magazine or something?) to "prove" that everyone but themself are idiots

- What was the sample size

- More specifics, (aka the whole thing could be have been leading, again dependent on how some test is conducted)

- As to measuring intelligence, all psychologists don't even agree on what intelligence is comprised of, and what mental abilities are or are not a sign of intelligence. All such IQ tests, don't measure every aspect of intelligence, and someone who does't do as well in one area, might be better at something else...

Her reply was "the test was absolutely legit bro, and all men are morons"

When I mentioned some of the probs with the test, and how I had in fact taken psychology in the past, and the professors who had a PhD in the field were quite clear on what the limitations of various IQ tests are, what they can and can not show, she tried they "I'm more knowledgeable then you..." line "and I'm a high school drop out, because I have experience. All men are idiots, and all women are superior". Umm, wtf does her having been in 2 wars have to do with how intelligent "everyone" is as a general rule. Not to mention I'm really 34, and not as "in-experienced" as she tried to make on.

By the time I had enough and was ready to leave, there were some other women in the channel who were saying I was right, and it's not reasonable to try to argue an entire gender is idiots, and "only women have any intelligence whatsoever"

My theory, fwiw, is that some women have barely enough intelligence to rope the dumber men in, yet aren't smart enough to realize that the dumber men will take full advantage of their own lack of intelligence. They have babies who grow up and move to brokeback mountain to play diablo 2 on militant lesbian servers hoping to snag the unwary male gamer, hammer him with cliched rhetoric and get him to post about it here for our amusement.

bah, she doesnt know wtf shes talking about. tbh, comparing the two in terms of intelligence doesnt show anything because the two genders have different strong points. one gender may dominate one test, but the other will dominate something else. there are anomalies in both cases too.

I've heard some pretty whacked out things in game chat before; but this leaves me shaking my head. The "I'm a high school dropout, but I know more then you", umm (wtf) I'm not entirely sure how to respond or take that one...

Meh, I've seen both dumb and intelligent people among both genders. Anyone who's run into tech support knows the callers can be anyone And I've also known some quite intelligent women (such as the physics teacher I had in high school, who previously was a professor at Yale University in both physics and the school of medicine, who wanted to help teach at the high school lvl having seen some real issues with the educational system in the country); as well as some men, such as my father who was a Princeton University graduate, having majored in chemistry. Oh well...

Yeah, I didn't get it either, and logged out to check to see if WoW was back up after a fair amount of time of this, and having discussed this with her, as far as I wanted. Sounded too much like people who tried to "prove" this wrt race, as well as the Eugenicists type of reasoning of old...

tbh, that sorta thing doesn't sit all that well with me, and the time can come where I just don't want to continue associating with someone who's trying convince everyone of it, along with a "oh bro, you're just dumb because you're a man, take my word on it"

Umm I dont think you all realize that ovaries can be used much like the Math-coprocessors of the 80's. When women think too hard their brains simply route some of the calculations down to them ovaries and wah-laa, problem solved. The extra work done by the ovaries usually has outward manifestations such as the woman being "cold" when it is like freakin 95 degrees and of course, the uncontrollable crying.

Men's brains also try routing calculations to the testes but all that happens is we get hungry. And want to do it.
