Dimension 8300 A07 BIOS won't initialize BFG 7800GS (AGP).
No signal in text mode or Windows. DVI or analog, no difference. I can install the latest Linux nVidia driver, swap in the 7800GS, and X.org will initialize the card, but it works only for the graphical session. So the card "works" (ie, not non-functional). There is no mobo onboard video, and I already tried the two modes (AGP or Auto) available in the BIOS. How can I get the 7800GS AGP to work? Return and get a different brand? Or will it have the same problem. Thanks! ![]() |

are you using a LCD monitor through DVI? it might be the bios of the card.

As my post said, I tried both DVI and analog.
