Default Wow!

Wow, what a storm. Hey you Chicago Area Members what a show out their tonight.

I haven't seen storms like this since the ealry 90's around here. We have gotten storms before but they haven't lasted no more than minutes, this one is going for hours now.

We can't complain about this one being its the longest in years around here.

Holy crap. I just checked weather.com and that thing is massive. I wonder if thats going to hit PA. Its hard to tell what direction its going but it looks like south east.

Thanks for the warning.

EDIT: The forecast shows thunderstorms for us tonight, tomorrow (tuesday) and wednesday. Glad I dont have anything important to do. Itl probably be cold and miserible outside.

Its been for a few hours now still and its 11:30 now. I like storms like this kinda reminds of those old horor movies from the 30's and 50's with the stormy weather all night long.

Be careful folks its pretty bad out their tonight.

Right now we are having the calm before the storm. The black thunder clouds are looming above. It actually feels like 5pm rather than 3pm. We always get really bad storms from Spring right through to Summer.

Yeah I like that too.

I used to be really scared of storms when I was little, now I love them.

Well... as long as they arent violently blowing trees and power lines down... those suck.

We have winters alright... Parts of Australia see snow for 4-5 months of the year.

We also have our arid regoins up north, like those you seen in the Dundee movies. It's hot during winter in those parts and it rains like nothing else in the Summer wet seasons.

We also have desert regions that go without rain for 20+ years at a time.

Where I live we have a tropical climate. So it's cool in winter and hot and humid in summer. I love it though. I practically live next door to a rain forest. Bloody parrots!

The storms that suck are the ones that take out your modem, the usb hub it was plugged into and the usb mouse. I now always use high end surge protectors on all the phonelines, powerpoints and TV antenna connections.

Last year we had a bad storm and I unplugged the phone line just to be extra careful and there was electricity arcing from the phone lead to the PC case near by. Scared the crap out of everyone. I now unplug it from the wall, rather than from the device

No you don't...

Internet sucks. Max in most areas is 1.5mbps on ADSL.

Metro City areas get cable and ADSL2 upto 24mbps though.

Damn...

We live in the woods outside a town of 9000 people and we have 3mbit\320kbit cable. I think services up to 5mbit\768kbit are available.

Still, I'd give up some internet speed for a change of scenery.
