Default Iran President "Imacrazyguy" in hot water

Quote:
Senior Iranian Dissident Cleric Slams Ahmadinejad on Nuclear Diplomacy
Monday, January 22, 2007

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's most senior dissident cleric said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's aggressive nuclear diplomacy had harmed the country, joining a chorus of criticism that has included even the hard-line leader's conservative allies.

The comments by Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, released Monday, reflected a growing feeling among many that Ahmadinejad has concentrated too much on fiery, anti-U.S. speeches and not enough on the economy.

Montazeri, 85, is one of a few grand ayatollahs, the most senior theologians of the Shiite Muslim faith. He had been the designated successor of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the 1979 Islamic revolution, until he fell out with Khomeini shortly before his 1989 death after complaining about powers wielded by unelected clerics.

This is the beginning of his end.

I know, the story is impossible to believe, and must be a lie, because it is from FoxNews.

So he's getting it from the people of Iran, and from the clerics? One of them at least. Lets see if our side is smart enough to use this properly.

Whats not to believe about it? Moreover it doesn't really matter as there is no talk of him stepping down.

He won't step down. But if he angers enough of the clerics they can, probably will force him out.

This pretty much sums up why bombing Iran would be a bad idea.
The general consencus of the people there is against his radical and hatred filled speeches.

One of those strange places that lives amidst a fushion of western technology and Islamic belief, a contradiction in itself.

It came from FoxNews, so it has to be a lie. At least recent threads say so.

Was just pointing out how stupid it is to discount FoxNews simply because it is FoxNews.

This is nothing new, there's a lot of dissent within Iran- and has been for a long time.

And yes, I do think attacking Iran would be a very bad idea, that has to be the absolute last resort.

Granted there is a grass rout people there that wants what we have, but also remember that he was voted in by the people, and they already knew what his view's was.

If left to talks only it will end up being the same as with north Korea, they will talk you to death while at the same time doing what they want until they get it.

I really doubt he will be forced out, and in the end they will have nuclear weapon's unless stronger measure's are taken. And we already know who the first target will be, Israel!

What's strange is a Evangelist said a long time ago that he thought the anti-Christ would come from Iran, and be the source by which the battle of Armageddon would begin.
