Unhappy OH Boy!, How I hate allergy tests

Last week, I went to this Doctor looking for a solution for my snoring problem (wife's complaining a lot). Before deciding what kind of surgery he's gonna perform on me, he did a quick allergy tests in office and set an appoinment for a more accurate allergy test for today. Well, early this morning, I went to this more accurate test and this time, it was a real torture session.

They put me in a room with a very comfortable leather seat, a TV and lots of DVDs. Then, a nurse came in with a box full of new syringes. I almost passed out when I saw the nurse pulling tray after tray with endless rows of little bottles of different colors with the substances for the shots. The only thing in my mind was, I gotta get out of here.

I got a total of 45 shots in both arms with different substances that are supposed to produce allergy reactions. After few minutes, when I had almost forgotten the pain of the shots, both arms got swollen and started itching like crazy. I felt like I was going to explode.
Dr. came by and said: WOW! you are in my top five list of patiences with more allergies.

Funny thing is that I am not miserable during allergy sessions. Just some cough and few sneezes but that's it. I told this to the Dr. and he couldn't believe it.

OH Boy!, how I hate allergy tests.

They did it in your arms? When I had that done they drew a grid on my back and injected there... The worst part is that they don't let you scratch and boy does it itch like hell.

Usually they do a grid on your back... and if they run out of space they run your arms too! That was prolly the tihng that happened.

LOL you got it east. When I was kid they used to graph your arms and back then scratch you all over with tiny cuts that ITCHED LIKE HELL. You then sat in that room for a hour and a half while the crap they scratched on your back either swelled up from a reaction or did nothing. They did well over a hundred of those damn things and I was only 7 years old. My back itched so bad I wanted to pass out and you can't scrach it or it will ruin the test.

When I was in grade school they did in on my back, then in middle school i got 31 shots in 1 arm ALL of them to test for various mold alergies

i took allergy shots for ~ 2 years and I am much improved, but grass and pollen still gets to me

I still remember the feeling when the test was done and they wiped down my back with a wet cloth. Oh man that ranks up there with sex and tall rollercoasters
