What's kept me busy (the good)

I can't seem to regularly attend this forum lately!!! Argh!!

Why?

Well, there's the obvious college, kids and job thing... but, well, about that job thing, I've gotten into something I never thought I could get into.

Web design.

Knowing absolutely nothing as of November, I marched headlong into web development for the company I work for.

Here's our most recent HTML mailer, which takes you to our site.

Our marketing research indicates that our audience is heavily biased towards IE6/7 and windows, so our site has a few niggles with other browsers (I'll fix that as I learn more). I'm developing using the new MS Expression Web, which tries really hard to be standards compliant. Also worth noting is that the link I gave to the HTML mailer looks best if you possess the Segoe UI font... if you don't have it, on windows machines I think it falls back to Arial, but on Macs it falls back to Times, bleh.

I'm doing a lot of marketing related activities in the last few months, designing our new letterheads, learning how to integrate properly with salesforce.com, etc... it's been fun and exciting

I've only had like an hour a week to play any games (COD1, yeah it's old, but it's what i've been having fun with lately).

So yeah, I just thought I'd show you guys what the hell i've been up to.

You designed that email? That's awesome man. Great work, especially considering you've only done it for like 6 months.

Yeah, everything I've done is from scratch. No templates, and I'm trying my best to stick to the CSS rules.

It warms my heart to see you're trying your hardest to adhere to web standards, too.
