8400 M GS - Any Old Style NV CP Drivers?

hi all

ive got myself a samsung R70 laptop recently. this has a 8400 M GS nvidia card, which is dx10. i have two main uses for the machine:

1. a bit of gaming (i think its slower than my old 6800gt in my second rig?!)
2. watching movies via hdmi to my hdtv

anyway, i loath the new control panel. are there any tweaked/otherwise drivers available that i can install instead of the standard, new control panel? i cannot view movies now unless i drag the mplayer window to the right and then watch it appear on the tv. gaming seems slow on this machine too, and theres nothing that tweakable that i can see. i also put a second gb of ram in the lappy too.

i stripped vista out of this machine, after seeing it wouldnt play ball with dualview settings.

if i could get:

a) drivers with old-style control panel to suit 8400 card
b) a way of tweaking card.... its only 128mb, but can i allocate another permanent 128mb from system memory? i cant even see a way to do that. my old rig is starting to look very good right now!...
