Thanks dudes. All 3 are bulgarian made (www.arsenalinc.com) except for the second from left which is a Yugoslavian M70.

Sazar that is a Russian PK01 optic on the one you mentioned. Haven't had a chance to shoot that one yet. To much else going on so far this summer.

Man, if I wasn't like 2000 miles away I'd love to go shooting some time.

Thats a hell of a nice family you've got there. My Russian Saiga is sort of a distant cousin.

Just wondering, do you notice a difference in recoil and muzzle climb between the different guns, specifically the ones with muzzle breaks\compensators on them?

My Saiga doesn't have a threaded barrel so it'd be a bit of a pain in the ass to attach one, but I've always wondered just how much difference they make on an AK.

I do want to get one of those rubber recoil buffers though. I guess they stop wear as well as lower felt recoil.

I was thinking about getting one of these bipods too, just because they look cool and it'd be fun to set it on a table and really lay into a target without having to worry so much about recoil.

Yeah I do notice a difference. It's arguable whether it's worth worrying about since mine are semi auto. If I had a select fire model then it would be much more of a concern. I do think they're worth having regardless but I probably wouldn't bother with your Saiga unless you were planning to have the entire thing converted some day. That would be part of the process they would do with it. RedJacket Arms and AKUSA are two companies that specialize in converting Saigas over to AK103. Kinda pricey though. RedJacket less so.

I honestly wouldn't bother with them. Most people seem to think they are unnecessary. It's not standard issue AFAIK in any country that uses the AK. And those are weapons that are select fire.

Never tried one of them but they look interesting. Pretty cheap even if it turns out to be a pile of crap. Keep in mind you could also just get yourself a rest or a vice instead if you want to hold it in one spot. That bipod really won't help much with recoil IMO.

BTW if you eventually want to get another rifle someday you might want to look into getting a vector arms classic off atlanticfirearms. It'd be a couple hundred cheaper, at least, than doing a conversion on your Saiga. 5 bills isn't chump change I know so it might take some saving. But just throwing that out there for you.
