Hey guys, I have an A8n-sli and my radeon just went so I figured i'd go get an 8800... I just tried putting it in, and it's obstructed by (Sorry for the lack of a technical term.. I dont know this stuff) 4 or 5 cylindrical objects on the mobo.
I can fit it in the second SLI slot, but the computer seems to not want to boot with that. What can I do?! Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

You talking about the 4 just in front of the slot near a screw hole? Hmmm... Is the card making contact with them before it even gets seated or what?

Strange, I've seen people fit 8800GTS cards on that mobo just fine.

Maybe the ones at the back of the board? Perhaps an 8800 on a non-reference PCB? FWIW, I had a card once that the bottom bracket screw hit a cap. I just took the one screw out and ran it anyways. I dunno the extent of your interference, but a simple screw like that can be left out as long as the card is secure. |
