nforce - RH9 2.4.20-18.9 - can't build drivers

The errors are below. I've notified nvidia since I couldn't find anything on here already. Has anyone gotten this to work, and if so, what patching did you have to do? Any make options I can pass that might get it to build?

what version of driver are u using? what distro?

oops... Drivers are latest availible, 0261. Distribution and kernel version are in the thread title.

uhmm interesting, it should compiled just fine with the newest driver.
it's like the same error occured last time when i compile the second newest driver.

Did you do anything special to get them to compile? I can't get them to go for the life of me. While I do have sound working via the i810 module, I'd like to actually get the thing going as intended.

no, i didn't do anything else than "make && make install"

edit:
in fact i manage to get it compiled on 2.4.20 rh9 stock kernel , 2.4.21, 2.4.21-ck3
and 2.6.0-test1 with additional patch

Ahhh.. so you haven't compiled on 2.4.20-18-9 then. That seems to be where the problem lies, as RH seems to have changed some of their kernel interfaces between the release and their updated kernel. I'm somewhat disappointed that NVIDIA isn't supporting a kernel that's been out for some months now.

can't remember the stock kernel version.
anyway why don't u use other kernel version?
the ck patches performs great on dekstop

edit: i really disappointed with NVIDIA, coz their support for
"Soundstorm" under linux is really lame and creappy

RH9 was released with 2.4.20-8 and went to 2.4.20-9 shortly thereafter. The RH kernels have been rock solid for me. I've got boxes with months of uptime that only get rebooted when I install a new kernel. I might give it a go, as I'm running a custom kernel on my laptop due to the need for the ACPI patches, with RH doesn't support very well now. It's just one of those "it works so well other wise" things. I may also give the alsa route a shot, and see how that goes.

Either way, I've emailed NVIDIA and let them know of my disappointment. A large part of the reason I went with an nforce board was because of my experience with their video module. At least everything else is working well, especially the integrated gig-e.

hmmm... ok, well, grabbed the 2.4.20-19.9 kernel from RH yesterday, installed it, and lo and behold... everything build cleanly.

Now I just need to know what module options are available to get whatever nifty stuff I can working
