Default OpenGL rendering corrupted

Since my last update to 1.0-4496, i have serious OpenGL rendering artifacts.

Screenshots here:

Bug1 shows the bug with near objects, something that just look like garbage.

Bug2 shows the same screen corruption at the bottom right of the screen (corruption occurs always in that part of the buffer). But as the camera is far from the terrain, the mesh is clearly visible (dark parts of the garbage). I think this bug has probably something to do with the ZBuffer not doing its job well in that part of the screen

System: Linux 2.4.21
GeForce4MX 440
Drivers: 1.0-4496 (old glibc threading version)
XFree 4.2.1 (debian SID)
Enemy territories for linux

I can reproduce the bug most of the time, running ET for a few minutes, then quit while playing (console + /quit) and then running ET again.

Is this a know problem of this driver set ?

I also have experienced exacly the same OpenGL rendering atrifacts in games, in exactly the same place. In fact some games run under Winex lock up entirely using 4496. I have had to go back to 4363, where all is well!!

Below is my present setup

System: Linux 2.4.21
GeForce4MX 440 64MB
Drivers: 1.0-4363
XFree 4.2.1-8 (debian SID)
ASUS A7V8X Motherboard KT400 Chipset Using NvAGP

I have similar artifacts with ut2003-demo, in the right lower corner, and at the upper edge of the screen.

First appeared with latest drivers.

I got an answer from linux-bug@nvidia.com (hoping that it is not an automatic answer

Greetings, Edouard. Thank you for your bug report. This should be
fixed in the next driver release.

I apologize for the inconvenience,

Just let's wait and see the result.

Send a message via AIM to maximillian
Default Thanks

At least I wasn't the only one that was having this problem.
