I enable 3D and then go cross-eyed. No glasses needed.

Yeah you need a 120Hz monitor and the 3d vision glasses. Pretty much all DX9 and later games support 3D.

It's not avoidable at 1080p. You can game at 720p at 120fps though. Still sucks compared to full HD on TV's. That is why I would only get a PC monitor for 3D at this time. Will have to wait for a new HDMI standard to come out.

Nope, a 120hz monitor. That's all. Oh and obviously an nVidia graphics card. Games take a performance hit though, varies between game.
Besides that, when your not using the 3D aspect having a 120hz screen is awesome for gaming.

You should be able to start 3D gaming now if you have an Nvidia card and a pair of red/blue glasses lying around (they should be extrememly cheap if you need to buy some). While 3D Vision (which uses 120Hz monitor + Nvidia's shutter glasses) is the more popular choice, nvidia drivers support an anagylph mode where it renders 2 images in 2 different color ranges, and 1 eye (with the red/blue glasses on) only sees one of the color ranges and the other eye the other color range--so same concept as 3d vision. Major drawback is that the colors get dulled in the process. Also 3D vision with the shutter glasses might give you more depth...I don't know.
Still, I was impressed with how Left 4 Dead 2 looked in anaglyph mode. Everything has way more depth, and not just in the foreground. I tried Crysis 2 and there's not as much depth in the background.
