More info about the new 10.3 drivers, apparently there will be more than just one driver:

Then why do they even bother listing the cards all separately? Why not just have a single video driver link on their page if that's the case?

Instead, what you'll find is they have drop-downs for all model cards and operating systems.

Xion said exactly what I was thinking. It just doesn't-make-sense!

Alright, slawter. I despise being wrong, but I'm man enough to admit it when I am.

This subject piqued my curiosity enough to go to nvidia's site and arrange two separate downloads, one for the 9800GT and one for the GTS250, and they both bring up the same driver version (196.21) and in both lists of "supported products" the 9800GT is listed.

So now it really makes no freaking sense for them to ask you for your card type when searching for drivers. Very, very odd.

I'm going to install the GTS250 driver again on this 9800GT for the final nail in the coffin. It really did not work when I tried it before, but maybe I had the wrong OS selected or something else that caused the install to fail in some way.

And yet, it does. Both companies have driver sets for now unsupported video cards, these cards usually are not supported by the current unified drivers.

In that case, it would make sense. What would make even more sense, though, is to list those unsupported cards and then say "all other products" for the other 100.
