I am constructing a Linux-From-Scratch system based on LFS-5.0. I've gotten XF86-4.3.0.1 installed with NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5328 working. The problem is in building arts-1.1.4 as a pre-req for kde. I get the folowing error:
Code:
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.1/../../../libGL.la' is not a valid libtool archive Code:
Software System Specs : kernel - 2.4.19, 2.4.23, and 2.6.0 libc - glibc-2.3.2 binutils - 2.14 gcc - 3.3.1 and 2.95.3 for kernel and modules libtool - 1.5 XFree86 - 4.3.0.1 and just about the latest stable versions of everything else... Hardware Specs : CPU - AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz MB - Biostar M7-VIB (VIA KT-133 chipset) ... I think... GFX - MSI nVidia GeForce FX-5600 MEM - 512MB PC133 |

Hi all.
I am running mandrake 10ce. I have the latest nvidia which is 6629(I think). The problem with the libtool and libGL.la continues with this version of nvidia. Does the solution provided... Please edit /usr/lib/libGL.la, and replace the line: # Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5 with # Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5 (for use by libtool) libtool greps for "^# Generated by .*libtool" before using .la files. work with this version of nvidia? Thanks for any help in advance. Jetblack ![]() |

The version of libGL.la installed as part of the 1.0-6629 driver doesn't require this workaround.
