I don't really understand what you mean by the first line...

Is the second line a joke or something? If you don't understand the benefit of decimalisation and metric/SI units then god help us. Let's get one thing straight, the only reason the US hasn't changed to metric and the UK has only partially changed is because it would cost a crapload of money. Sure there would be a lot of protest as well, but if the govt. really wanted to do it and cough up for it, then they would, and eventually your children, or your grand children would probably start telling you weights in kilograms and talk about litres of gas/petrol.

EDIT: Not that you couldn't afford it, but it would be an awful waste of taxpayer money. I'm just saying it would be a lot easier if the whole world was metric and imperial units never existed in the first place.

Why would they use stones and then follow it up with measuring her by the "foot"?

Cos they like me found it very quick and simpler to use stones and foots, I find it hard to count pounds and inches.

so when you measure a person's height you use feet? I would have thought you used meters there.

All this stuff about pounds, stones and feet is nonsense.

Use Metres, centimetres and kilograms please.

Only 68kg? You are a tall skinny guy.

I'm not sure of my height, but I'm 85kg, was 90 but lost weight in hospital.

So wht I heard last year about the UK phasing out the metric system.. is it true or untrue? I've read bits about how many establishments/systems and societies have joined the US/UK in utilizing the imperial system, or at least a variation of it...

...hm, or was that at the onion?

Yeah I am tall but I am no skinny guy, I was a bodybuilder at 19 and gave up doing it cos of too much college homeworks. Now I am on low fat diet, helped me get good body shape and got stomach muscles. I doubled checked my weight, it is exactly 69kg, my waist is 31 inch and 14% mass fat. My BMI is 21.8 which is within normal weight status.

Guess I will need to workout soon to get my mass fat down to 10% or less and ripped muscles, not been workout since 12 years ago.

Edit: Received a new MyoTape body tape measure in the post today ordered on ebay last week. Gave my waist very accurate measurement, it is 31 inch, not 32 inch estimated. So that mean I have a body mass of 14%, I will need to remove 4% of my stomach fat to expose my 6 pack.

Not that I've noticed. Half of our things are in imperial units and the other half in metric. Its always been like that and its always been pretty confusing...

Metric is good cos its logical
The idea is you messure things no matter what in the same manner making calculations much easier. Metres, thousands of metres (kilometres) or thousandths of a metre (millimetres)
You dont need to use silly conversion tables.

This of course also carries on to mass
1kg (1000g), 1ton(1000kg) etc

You get a good grip of it since its all the same prefixes and they represent the same amount at all times.

Im almost 180cm tall and weight 60kg ... so im slim hehe.
