I went from Vista Home Premium x64 to 7 Ultimate x64. Did an in place upgrade. The install was cake! Took about an hour and everything was installed. Tweaking afterwards was a whole other thing. A lot of disabling and fine tuning.

Seems like an appropriate topic...
How well does it handle installing to a RAID array?

I had a few small bumps during my install, but not like that. It was mainly due to newbish mistakes.
I tried the install with AHCI on, which doesn't work for XP, Vista or Windows 7, at least with my P35 chipset. After the OS is installed you can make a registry change and then install the AHCI Intel driver and activate it in the BIOS. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976 I also started the install with my 2407WFP's media/USB hub connected and it didn't seem to like it when it came to identifying drives. It put my drive letter last in the chain, assigning drive letters to the card reader slots. I had this issue with Vista and I just forgot to disable AHCI and unplug that USB hub from my LCD. After that, it was smooth.

I recommend downloading a diagnostic CD to test your ram with memtest.
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/index.html I had blue screens during the windows 7 install and it was due to a stick of ram that was bad. I'd been using that ram for two years without blue screens in Vista. I guess 7 is just more sensitive to bad memory.

How long did you run it for? I usually run it over night.

I re-installed, well, so far...I used eidy's step by step advice, until step 9. I did NOT put in my chipset drivers, Win 7 detected everything. I couldn't "update" software. So far, it's working ok. No BSOD's AT ALL. Still installing devices 1 by 1.
