Same with the special events. I still cannot get gold in the intermediate AMG event. The mean of the game B-Spec / A-Spec are meh. But overall the driving physics are excellent + many cars to choose from. I enjoy it more than any other sim on PC or console. That included GTR2, LFS, iRacing and FM3. It's just a great combo of sim + fun. That's just my opinion. The "grind" is not that bad unless you want the ultra expensive cars. And ultra expensive cars are not better. The F1 cars and the Formula GT are the only expensive cars that you'll really have to get but you should have enough money for those just by playing the game regularly without grinding.

Yea I bought the Formula GT car a few days ago. Thing is a beast. Took me a long time to save up the $4.7 million.

Just wait until you get the X2010. The thing is so fast it's cartoonish. It'll also help with endurance races if you ever decide you need to get to level 40. Otherwise it's just a fun reward for playing the game that long.
I've put the game down as a daily player, but I'll still come back to it occasionally to buy another car from the dealership, tune the hell out of it, and take it around the track a bit.

I prefer GT5 over FM because it has these challenges that are sometimes hardcore difficult. One day I hope to get gold on all the Nurburgring Mercedes challenges. Polyphony's development of this game has been abysmal. It took them way too long to move to the PS3. But I'm really impressed by how much they have supported the game. I've never seen a developer push more updates into a game.
