NVNews has been given the opportunity to interview NVIDIA about their Hybrid Technology. If you have any questions that you would like us to ask, post them in this thread. I will only consider topic related questions for the interview.

Does this include the hybrid SLI and using the powersaving feature on the 780a chipset?
I'd like to know if they can allow you to use the onboard GPU to push one monitor, and your dedicated SLI setup to push another, so you can have SLI running and still be able to use a second monitor for mundayne tasks. |

And on the serious side, will the secondary cards be able to run independent displays even when games are running on the primary? |

Will this technology soon allow for two different GPU's on separate cards, in other words, is this only for an onboard GPU and an independent (on card) GPU?
How well will this scale with GPU advances since the second GPU cannot be upgraded without buying a new motherboard? Quote:

Will it completely shut the dedicated card down (including the fan), or will it simply be placed in a low-power state, with fan running (I'm guessing the latter)?

I'd like to know if this technology will work with motherboards without integrated graphics, ie, a TriSLI mobo running two cards for SLI and a third card for low power applications.
Also, with the Hybrid motherboards, where does the DVI cable connect. The mobo or the graphics card? If it's the motherboard, how, if at all, does this effect performance when running games that use the PCI-Ex graphics card(s). Does sending the data back through the motherboard slow things down at all? Will the Hybrid motherboards have a HDMI output and will running HD video still only use the motherboards GPU? Are there going to be any high-end TriSLI capable Hybrid SLI motherboards for Intel CPU's? Will Hybrid SLI differ at all between OS's? Do Hybrid SLI mobo's require any extra power connections? If so, what type? How much system RAM will it use? (or will there be a small ammount of GDDR RAM on the motherboard for graphics) Will switching between the mobo GPU and graphics card GPU cause any delay or screen flickering in a game loading? Will it work with any nVidia graphics cards including older ones? When using the mobo's GPU, will the graphics cards fan still be required to be running? |
