Default nvidia linux driver prevents suspend

Hi folks.

I've confirmed this on my machine, and a web search indicates many others having the same problem...

I have an ASUS M3N78-VM motherboard (GeForce 8200), running kubuntu 9.10. Suspend (S3) and resume work properly, until I install the nvidia driver. If the driver is installed, the machine will suspend/resume once after a fresh boot. Subsequent attempts to suspend fail; the machine goes through the suspend steps, but resumes immediately.

Is this a bug the nvidia folks have confirmed/admitted to? Is it being worked on? Is there a workaround?

Thanks.
