7150, Supported or not?
I'm looking at getting a new laptop, specifically the HP dv6636nr. Specs located here. It uses the built in GeForce Go 7150M (UMA). I keep getting mixed answers as to whether or not this graphic card works. I didn't see it on the supported cards list for the drivers. I've seen a few people say they have it working just fine. And I've seen others that say it doesn't work at all.
I only want this laptop if I can get everything on it to just work. I'm dealing with an unsupported graphics card right now in this laptop, and I don't want to go through it again. Can anybody help me straighten this story out? Thanks. |

New driver version 169.04 seems to support it.

How should i proceed to install this driver on my linux? Whitch vesion should i use for this model?

I have the HP DV6646Us with the Nvidia GEFORCE GO 7150M. It works great with the installed Windows Vista. But I am have installed Ubuntu Linux in dual boot mode and can only get generic 600x400 resolution. There doesn't seem to be a linux driver for this card yet. That is why I got on this board to see if anyone else has got full support of it on linux.
