Gabe has my respect. I emailed him asking to add subtitle for Half-Life 2 because first game didn't when it came out. He responded within next day saying he's very sorry and he is going to personally tell lead programmer to add subtitle in Half-Life 2.

When Half-Life 2 hit the retail, I was surprised it's not subtitle but closed caption! (that's a lot more dialogue in text than a mere subtitle) He did keep his words and give more. He's very busy, I can tell you. Few graduates from my school works at Valve said Gabe is awesome person with full of passionate in gaming. I'm going to meet him personally in next few months for job questioning (I live close to Valve building).

Everyone has different opinions, no need to pick on Gabe for his weight or so just because you disagree his opinions. I lose respects for you if you don't express your opinions in professional manners because I see that you're not taking it serious.

Gabe is a very smart guy. Started Valve. Funded it with his own money. Made their first game into a success. Has continued to drive his companies success. So what if he's overweight, just watch American news.. looks like half the population or more is overweight.

Multicore programming will probably become easier in the future as the development tools mature. However, jumping into a processor like the cell is far too early in the game. Having fewer stronger cores is a better idea right now than having more weaker ones.

Gabe shouldn't be attacking sony though as his own company is full of equally bad blunders, especially given how buggy their flagship game engine is, and how it takes them two years to release two hours worth of content.

He was the producer of first 3 windows versions. He is more of a programmer than most...

I may be biased because I adore valve games but, I think he is an overall smart guy and his moves in the gaming industry have shown to be right and successful at most.
