You guys are nuts. This game is awesome and plays a lot different than CoD2.

For one, you can't sprint on COD2. The engine is completely redone. The storyline is completely redone. The physics are entirely new. Bullets travel through windows, walls, and splinter doorframes. The weapons are entirely new. The guns recoil more realistically. The AI is much improved (enemies hide from you on rooftops and duck for cover when you fire at them instead of just standing there...) Cars now blow up and kill you if you stand near them, unlike CoD2s that just remain on fire.

I mean, really. I don't get where people are saying the two are so much alike, and I'm a CoD2 fanatic. Some people just can't be satisfied, I guess.

This game is the closest thing to an actual, real battlefield that I've ever seen. Looks almost like a movie it's so impressive. It's really unbelievable.

have you guys changed the settings under "texture" to manual? I set everything to "extra" and there was a noticeable improvement on the textures on clothing and gloves, things also seemed crisper after I changed the filter slider all the way to the right (aniso@16?)
, however, that might have been the change to the newest drivers. just my 2 cents

Because it's the easy thing to say and sheep follow one another. I think because the call of duty series left the ww2 era and went into modern times they were going to get some thing totally different game play wise like a 360 intstead of a 180. I like all of the cod so I would like this no matter what but if it would have been totally different you would hear that this isn't COD it's nothing like COD 2.

This kind of feels very different from the XBox 360 MP Beta. Anyone else think so? Either way, very formulaic COD. I was hoping they would depart a little bit from leading you all the way and setting you up for the big bang but I still liked it. Was able to pretty much max it out with no problems which is a good thing but then again the textures where not that great. I will still get it but I have to wonder if they saw something at E3 we are not in this demo because its really not that much of a departure from other COD's and I saw a lot more innovative titles at E3.

Game looks ok and overall the style is well done but its far far away from awesome. Crysis is awesome, TimeShift is awesome: COD4 is not in the same league.

Man I couldn't agree more. The Crysis MP beta isn't that impressive. Sure, graphics are nice if you want to run at a low res (and I have a powerful system) but the gameplay is SO uninspired...

Downloading COD4 now from gamershell.com. Let's see how this one is. I was SO pleasantly surprised by how much fun QuakeWars is, so I'm hoping this one will be good too...

I thought the demo rocks. Damn good demo and runs damn good all the way up too.

COD4 ran like crap, same ole bloated crap like COD2 Dx9. All the graphics seemed blahh and washedout. Back to TF2 runs like butter and is 10x more fun & will be fully supported.
