Okay, after a lot of browsing and posting through countless forums, I'm willing to go back to XGL as the only solution against the WAIT issues I"m having (random freezing while using composite managers).
The problem is: I know that XGL and the nvidia driver do not go very well together (inability to use nvidia-settings among other things). My question is: what exactly are the issues I have to endure by using XGL? And do those issues have a workaround? I know I won't be constantly using 3D apps, so I simply could log into a normal X session instead of the XGL session whenever I want to use them. Would that be enough? |

Hi remonman, thanks for your reply!
I guess I'll give it a shot. I'm guessing that whenever you want to use 3D apps, you logout and then log in a non-XGL session? |
