Make sure that you're running the small FFTs torture test and not large FFTs or Blend. Small FFTs stresses the overclock more. If you're at those temps when running that test around 1.5v then you're in good shape.

Well i took your advice and im running the Small FFTs, 57c - 58c load up to now, i normally run the Blend test because it stresses both your cpu and memory! i wanna make sure my memory is also stable that those speeds! .... oh and another thing .. how long should i run this Small FFTs test for?
I wonder if i could lower my memory timings? Thanks for all your help by the way! ![]()

Probably a good idea to run a Blend test, but you want to max stress your overclock w/ small FFTs first for at least 5 hours. If it passes that, then you can consider it perfectly stable.

Well i ran Orthos for almost 6 hours last night and all came back stable!
....... CPU idles at 33c, max load temp was 58c but it was alittle warm in here last night! ... cpu at 3.6GHz on 1.43v and the memory at 900MHz on 2.00v! ... all looking fine to me, what do you think?

Looking very good old chum.
One thing I noticed with my RAM was it would OC to 920mhz + , BUT, over 880 ish the bandwidth dropped off quite sharply and I lost some performance. I used Sandra to do some memory testing. I recommend you do the same. |

Thanks m8, i think ive used Sandra in the past! .... the thing if even if i am loosing some bandwidth what can i do? ..... im on a 1:1 ratio so really all i could do to lower the ram is lower the cpu speed... right? ...... im just testing now! running at the 902MHz, 2.00v & 4-4-4-12 timings .... lets see how it goes!

U godda find the peak performance balance. If you are starting to loose bandwidth I'd lower the FSB a little. Going from 3.6ghz to 3.5ghz aint gonna make a huge difference to the overall speed but loosing a chunk of memory bandwidth probably will.
A megadooper high CPU speed aint the be all and end all anyhow. 3.6ghz on the CPU is a superb OC anyhow. |

Personally I would stick at that. Just check your memory bandwidth though. It should be between 7000 at 8000 mbps.

Yeah im going to stick with this m8, seem to be running great! ... maby you could help me to work out how i test my memory with Sandra to see if im getting the 7000 at 8000 mbps as you said?

I think it's in the Benchmarking section, but i'm not 100% on that. Just have a look through the tabs. It's called 'Memory Bandwidth'. Open it and click on the green refresh button at the bottom.
