Hello everyone,
after the X server starts, whenever it goes into full screen text mode (i.e. when switching off, when you go to terminal using i.e. CTRL+ALT+F1/F2/F3/..., etc.) I get annoying random pattern of colors (mess of coloured rectangles). I read somewhere that this is known problem on some cards and resolutions and "nVidia" is looking at it". It started with my comeback to nvidia drivers about half a year ago and even up-to-date drivers does the thing now. It worked well with last year drivers. Any more info about the problem? Any solution? nVidia GeForce 6800 Go 256MB SuSE 10.3 (just updated )1440x900, 16b. color depth, 3D on, default settings with changes made by: nvidia-xconfig --composite nvidia-xconfig --render-accel nvidia-xconfig --allow-glx-with-composite nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals Regards, Oak Last edited by oakld; 10-21-07 at 09:48 AM. |

http://www.sub-club.org/images//screen.jpg You see, it's not funny when your terminal looks like this. It is not possible to work in terminal this way... |

I have the same issue in my dual-seat configuration, but I thought that it's because of running two X servers simultaneously. When I press Ctrl-Alt-F1 in my graphic session I get a garbled screen and X does not work till reboot

Yes, that is the problem I described. I.e. when I switch computer off, I also get mess on the screen until the computer switches off. In another words, I get this whenever X are running ant attempting to display a text-mode screen. I have a single screen (laptop). I didn't connected the second screen (flat TV) since I updated to SuSE 10.1 and re-installed nvidia drivers.
Anybody have any comments? |
