Searched but couldn't find an answer.

I'm in Chapter 4 now on the island. In the village there is a human blacksmith. I finally have 3 red meteorites but I can't figure out how to get him to make a steel meteorite sword for me? I try to drag and drop the meteorite in his inventory but they only get sold that way. I try to drag and drop the meteorite on my sword but that doesn't work either.

Do only specific blacksmiths make meteorite swords or something?

IIRC, yes. I think you have to play your alliances right and then work with the dwarves.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut (294MB)

The Director’s Cut lets gamers in North America experience wonders not commonly seen in their neck of the woods as they enjoy the developers’ original vision for the game. You will be able to download it as both free patch for existing owners and as a stand-alone product at various digital distributors.

Note: The Director’s Cut patch does not contain patch 1.5 features. You must apply both patches if you want both 1.5 and Director’s Cut features. Patches can be applied on version 1.4 (Enhanced Edition) in any order. And remember, the Director's Cut patch is only really applicable to those who have the North American version of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

So how do they get away with this while keeping the same rating in the US?

They said they never submitted the original vesion to the ESRB... their publisher (Atari) demanded cuts. Now they have submitted the original version and it still got an MA.

I've only played the vanilla version of the game, never the enhanced. Would it be worth buying the Directors Cut after playing the vanilla? Enough changed?

I don't own the game btw, meth let me use his for a while, got rather hooked before I shipped it back to him.

Directors has the EE improvements, so a tweaked combat system and better graphics, not to mention re-recorded voice acting in some places. If you don't own it and want to play it again. The Directors Cut is the way to go.

It's funny that Atari AU didn't demand anything and on top of that it made it through the OFLC untouched. Strange for a game with nudity, sex and dismemberment.

If you still own the Vanilla you can patch it all the way up to Enhanced Edition Director's Cut.
