The perfomance is better with in DX 9 in Vista with the tweak that in DX10, about 50/70 %. The sunshafts, paralax and I believe that the postprocess and the water is like in DX10. The textures procedural distant seems that are not activated, maybe this is the reason .

Download the files of High to VeryHigh for XP-DX9

From my wanderings I've learned this:

If you run it in Vista, try running it with a "-dx9" prefix.
Turn off motion-blur, it takes a massive hit.
So does AA.
There are two benchmarks in the bin32/bin64 folders, called benchmark_GPU and benchmark_CPU or very close to that. You can run those.
To check in-game FPS w/o the benchmarks, type r_displayinfo 1 in the console.

Of course, none of this matters if you've got a rig like JakUp's, of course. How is it running for you?

It looks freaking amazing, btw. I saw the veins on a leaf on a bloody bush. How many other games can brag that?!? Character models PWN, but their mouths move like they've got a freaking speech impediment plus some botched Botox injections to the lip. Kind of ruins the face for me. Maybe the speech is really nice, but it fails bad in comparison to everything else about the character models. I noticed the nanosuits don't bunch up their butts when they crouch. Guess they aren't that tight, lol, jk...

This is a good game. Can't wait for the actual game to come out.

ok that was a sweet download...water looks better and the framerate took a little hit but not much..damn what is the deal with directx10?
well doesn't matter this game looks even more better if that's possible..and I can play it on my rig.. yippeee probably gonna put the pc back in the projector room and play it with an 8 foot wide screen. Game still runs very smooth indeed at 1280x720 with 16x FSAA...can't imagine what a few more drivers will do for it!

I got the same EXACT thing with the new drivers installed, it was a slide show so i had to switch back. Let me guess this happened after you installed the new nvidia drivers.

I got it with 169s too. it gets fixed when you force AA via the game and not CP. set AA to application controlled and force it in game.
