^^Lol look at what was a pretty jungle back then. We are indeed spoiled with Crysis now

Anyway where the hell is the gore that was so realistic and cool in Far Cry!?

I mean bullet holes in bodies, bleeding out in there water (they don't even do that right? Or.. not completely sure)

anyone beat it on hardest difficulty setting yet? i tried once... got prety far... but after i kill the guys on the beach amongst all the rocks, and kill the 2 hummer gunners and drivers.. i dont know what to do...

i cant kill the boaters.. too far to pick off.. and too risky to let them call for back up.. when i get in the hummer the boat opens fire.. and calls for backup... i try walking but its so damn far... i get to a lil campout.. kill them...nmaybe 3 guys... and than i get annihilated by a huge base..

when with baot i can bypass all that but they dont want these guys calling for backup

suggestions?

If you really want to go after the boat guys, then wipe out the rest of the people and go back to finish them off. I've completed Delta mode without dealing with the boats - too much bother.

The way I do it is just juggling my cloak and using prone mode in the grass a lot. I don't run and gun.

I also keep one rifle set to the tranquilizer dart (silenced) and the other one set to single shot and silenced (aim for headshots) . I alternate between both to make sure I don't get caught making too much noise.

Use your binoculars to scan the terrain and to plan ahead; even in Delta mode the enemies are pretty much where you expect them, but the boats seem more aggressive.

Oh yeah, don't forget that strength mode + rifle makes it more accurate at longer distances.

Yeah, what was the excuse for the lack of gore?

Yeah I was wondering about that the other day when I was playing. They definately don't bleed into the water in crysis like they did in far cry. And defiantely no bullet holes. It's a lot less gory.

r_DepthOfField = 2 (that one looks best IMO, but I didn't measure performance hit, but it seemed almost even)

Sorry for the misunderstanding but no I didn't figure this one out yet and I tried to mess around with DoF, and the detail cvars but didn't find it yet. There was a cvar which disabled texture LOD and that might fix it but I don't remember it right now.

Lack of gore is to do with German laws apparently. Hopefully someone can make a patch in the future.

Seeing Far Cry again reminds me of those damned Trigens.

I hope there aren't any giant aliens with rocket launcher for arms

I'd like to know this too. No reason this shouldn't work in 32bit mode.

Also, look at this post by ice, we all are missing the 3D wave look.
