Default Nvidia 6200 tv-out no color

Hi,

I 've installed nvidia-100.14.19 for Puppy Linux and used "NVIDIA settings" tool to change xorg.conf
I wanted to use the tv-out of the card so added twin view. I don't see any setting I can change to add Pal or composite/svideo (I know this can cause color problems)
After setting it up and resetting the x server, on my monitor there were no problems but my tv was in black+white.
Adding
Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPOSITE"
or
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B"
Crashed the tv-out completely.

Any ideas? Thanks

In your bug report, I see:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the GLX module; please check in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0): log file that the GLX module has been loaded in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0): server, and that the module is the NVIDIA GLX module. If
(EE) NVIDIA(0): you continue to encounter problems, Please try
(EE) NVIDIA(0): reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.

I'd suggest following the instructions in that error.

Well... I've reinstalled the driver (a pre-packaged pet file, comparable with debs), no luck the same error. So I installed (K)Ubuntu and used the restricted driver manager. No luck, still black + white. After that I tried Envy. Envy uses the latest Nvidia driver.

Same problem , added the bug report.

What kind of TV are you using, and how is it attached to the graphics card?

Color TV

It's a normal philips tv (no lcd/plasma). Used to work great with my MX400 Nvidia card (also the same scart-cable).

I have added 2 new files, I think I attached the wrong file first. TV out fails completely after adding
Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPOSITE"
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B"

You can see the result in the second bug report. I hope this helps for finding the problem.

Are you actually using a composite cable?

I don't know what you mean by that, but it is the same cable I always used and on my MX400 it reproduced color and I'm pretty sure I used composite in xorg.

Just to be sure I used the old xorg.conf file I used to use with my MX400 and I tried svideo instead of composite. The funny thing is, it didn't crash tv-out but reproduced black + white. Composite still gives a totally black screen.

I have attached the xorg.conf with the svideo result. I will add the composite in a few minutes.

And this is the COMPOSITE result.

This is strange: " (**) NVIDIA(0): Forcing SVIDEO output"

In the svideo bug report it is the other way around, forcing COMPOSITE output. Well I guess you' re the expert
