Nvidia 7300 and TV out resolution

Hi,
I have a 7300GS card under gentoo with only the svideo used. I'd like to display at 720x480, however X will load it up initialize to 720x480 first and then at the very end it does a resize to 640x480:

(II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "640x480"

There is not indication of an error regarding the resolution. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.
