Default 8800 GTS = opaque edges and dragging

Hello One and All!

Installed the Beta Driver 169.04 and flew perfectly. Now when I click and drag an icon, close a window, modify a screen app, whereas prior to the install I could see 'behind' the icon, the window etc, now it is surrounded by an opaque white box - I suspect the painting perimeter. This means that dragging a file into another directory is tough as I cannot always see the destination clearly. Another example is that dialogue boxes that are 'rounded' are now square - though 'clipped'. Performance is not what I anticipated either. [XP the GPU flies.]

I have read the FAQ, install thread [all libraries are where they ought to be and are being used - to the best of my knowledge], read the "If you have a prob....", read other threads from users, there appear to be no conflicts, updated driver [checked via terminal] and so on. before posting.

For extra info, prior to installing 169, my CPU was being used at around 90% [dual core @ 3gHz] and now it is where it ought to be.

FC7 (
dual core 3.0gHz - 2Gb RAM
GeForce 8800 GTS - driver 169.04

Hope that is enough to get some assistance....so thanks in advance! I cannot comment on games performance as machine is Dual Boot and games are presently confined to XP only. Only been on Linux and FC6-7 for 6 months now.

Thanks in anticipation....
