Hi!
Seems like the 8800 GT is now available in stores! Any chance a driver is going to be available, soon? regards Bernhard |

Yeah, this looks like it's going to be an extremely popular video card!
So add me to the "me too" list. Whenever the Linux driver supports the 8800GT, I'm going to buy one. |

Me too. Or are the actual drivers working with it?

I'm sorry we were unable to make a driver available at launch for this GPU. While I can't promise any particular release date, releasing a driver that supports the GeForce 8800 GT is our top priority.

Glad to hear it. +1 to the "will buy when it's supported" group.
My old 7600 GT that was just supposed to hold me over for a few months and has now been in my rig for a year just isn't cutting it in Quake Wars. ![]() |

![]() I imagine the one good thing about the driver delay is that the supply/demand issues for this card will settle down to a more buyer-friendly ratio. |

Hey nemecb, when you get that 8800GT and take out the 7600GT you can stick it in the post to me. I don't have any Quake Wars issues. ;-)

Gah, I didn't learn this until I took it home and put it in.
I'd hate to have to return it (it's a sizeable upgrade). Usually how long does it take to release Linux version of the drivers? |

I am so patiently waiting for this release, and let me say this card is awesome. I just could not justify buying a 8800gtx o similar card and for what I was doing my 7600gt was fine.
I wanted to play crisis and knew it wouldn't do it, but the 8800gt lapped it up with all settings on high. Not a single glitch ,and I even reset all my bois settings to default and left them there to see how well it would do. Very impressed with this carrd! ![]() |

I gave my old video card to my Fiancee , so I'm having to use a pretty low quality one until then--I'm dying to put this card in and to the test. |
