Default Re: Crysis SLI Performance Feedback

Has there been any more research into whether SLI is going to be supported (read fixed) for the game. Im sure not going to spend another 600.00 for another GTX if SLI wont even make a difference with this game! Turbo bummer.

I can't believe you guys are still bothering with the crapppy game called Crysis. I have so much fine playing Timshift and COD4. Crytek team should go back to school and learn how to do a proper coding...

What a joke...

"With this driver, SLI will deliver 40-50% speedup over a single GPU for Crysis. In addition, Crytek will release a patch in the next week or two that will improve SLI performance further."

Will that patch also fix the artifact problems that occasionally occure?

I don't know I just wanted to let you know that the first patch is suppose to further improve SLI. Can you discribe your artifacts or even better post a screenshot?

It does make a difference, I get much better fps, but you can wait for the new patch, and I'll let you know. I got two.

One time in Vista (64) the entire screen went diagonal. It was so bad I had to reboot. I couldnt even see enough of what was on my screen to kill the program through task manager. The second time in XP (32) I was in excavation site killing the bad guys and when I looked up at the sky this 8" wide swatch of screen went diagonal from the sky to the ground. I played with the AA controls and when I adjusted them to 8X or better the artifacting stopped!!!

Question for you guys. Ive been waiting for a new GTX card to buy from nVidia(92), instead of SLI-ing my current GTX. Do you guys think there will be one? Or should I just buy another XFX GTX and SLI my current set up instead of waiting? Id really like to improve the performance of Crysis that Im playing now.

Thanks.

One thing is important, Crysis produces artifacts when you force AA settings in the driver. Leave it to "application-controlled".

Q1 2008 most likely, and that will most likely again be a Dual PCB card, much like the 7950GX2.

Story line aside..Crysis engine is in another league. The game has soo much going on and brings soo much to gamers than anything out there..

You don't have to like the story of the game to just go and say...wow..this is some engine.

I hope more developers go this way, because then gpu/cpu designers can set goals to push forward to rather than..:sigh:..3dmark scores...

On topic as for SLI..mm gave the new drivers a shot, strangely enuf the fps does hang arround the 30-35 mark..now that is nice..because before even at 25~ it actually felt smooth..but with these drivers..it feels sluggish..its like it says '35' but feels like 15....This is for the DEMO so i cant comment if its just DEMO or retail.
