Anyone have a tweaked very high dx9 config running in SLI under Windows XP? I'm interested in how that runs.

Same. I haven't bought the game yet. Just waiting patiently for a new Gpu from Nvidia or Ati.

TBH I think you'd need 2 x G92 GX2 in SLI to run it on Very High at a high res. with AA.

BTW, I would still really like to know what I need to do with nHancer to get the most out if Crysis now i'm on 64bit Vista. One thousand thank you's in advance

Well I've decided not to go SLI just for Crysis. I finished the game playing through on DX10 Very High 1280x960 0AA 16AF and I was happy. I'm going back through playing on tweaked XP now. The SLI jump is just so small, $550 for another GTX and $150 for a good PSU as I don't think my 520w would handle two GTXs, $700 for maybe +15-20fps isn't worth it to me. So I'll be waiting for the next highend card refresh and see what things look like then, maybe I'll pick up an Opty 185 for now and OC the he11 out of it.

Today you make the right decision, but i purchased the sli 1 year ago, im very happy with this year of fun. the key is to buy and sell just on time. I sell the gtxs for sure when the new topnoch gen arrive.

THX_1138 - what res are you running at?

im yet to post my specific specs, but here is roughly what im running:

vista 64
intel core 2 duo (quad core one whatever it is...)
4gb ram
2 x bfg 8800 gtx 768mb (SLI)
30" samsung lcd

169.09 beta drivers

playing crysis retail, on HIGH dx9 64bit at my screens native res, im lucky to get above 10 fps!

its promising to see people getting much better frame rates than i am, but ive tried a hell of alot of tweaks and i cant for the life of me get my machine to run similar framerates to various benchamrks ive seen online. there is a crysis SLI performance guide on the toms hardware page, which is showing alot better performance than what im getting..

nhancer doest run correctly for me either, i get very strange black frames, except if i stand still then the screen draws ok - even more odd is it draws the HUD.

anyway, ill keep playing with things but id love to know a few more details about what settings/res/drivers/ your runing crysis at.

cheers.

But how long till the next killer card comes out? Could be a long 6-9 month wait.

I have a very similar setup, i get from 2 fps to 30 fps (on high) depending on the scene.
i run it at 2560x1600. Keep in mind that 2560x1600 is over 4Mpix, as opposed to gaming at 1680x1050 for ~1.7Mpix. You could drop the res a bit (with no scaling, image will use the native 16:10 ratio but only smaller) and get similar fps like the others.

I've found that 2560x1600 is playable with high settings under XP.

Everyone keeps saying SLI aint worth it with 'only' a few FPS increase, but percentage wise it's between a 50-80% increase from what I can see. For me, running in SLI means I can go from Mediums/High settings to High/Very high (ie, the tweak) without any FPS loss. The upcoming patch is supposed to make SLI even better.

in response to Iduguay:

thats a point, one thing i was wondering with scaling is if its possible to play at less than your native res, turn off scaling, but not have the game run in windowed mode?

ie - so you have a smaller image of the game on your screen but with a big empty black border around the edge? can this be done guys? in vista?

From the Nvidia control panel, set your display to 'no scaling'. So you will have a smaller image centered on your screen.
