Helo,
I do have prob with the latest driver glx-91 If i install it through the PM I end up after booting with a black screen. Which is the same provided by the Restricted PM I just get a black screen, no booting nothing ... it tries to install version 91 nvidia-glx .... I searched the internet and found that I have to use an older version.... found nvidia....-71...run but it is a run file. What are the commands in Ubuntu 7.10 to run this file. In terminal when I try to launch "sh nvidia....71.run" I always get a message saying that I cannot run the file in X ... please exit X. Where should I run the file ? thanks for any help |

If you're experiencing problems with the latest supported driver, you should follow the instructions in the forum sticky posts.

Thanks a lot,
At least now I could run the install. It worked to the end, but as soon as I put "nvidia" in the Xorg file, I get a Black screen !! Changed it back to "NV" and I can at least reboot. Attached is the installer log file , guesss this would be for one of Nvidia "expert". Again thanks for the Command ... |

The installer log is for installation problems. You're reporting a runtime problem, so you'll need to provide an nvidia-bug-report.log that captures the problem (not the 'nv' driver). See the forum sticky posts or the driver README for more information.

This bug report is against the nv driver and tells nothing about the problem you're reporting. As I stated above, you'll need to provide an nvidia-bug-report.log that captures the problem (not the 'nv' driver). See the forum sticky posts or the driver README for more information.
