The problem most people are having is that they think they should be able to run all settings at very high while maintaining a fast frame rate on todays hardware.

Well I hate to tell you this but your asking to much of a 1yr old GPU. Guys if you use a little common sense with the settings and ini tweaks for DX9 you can get Crysis too look amazing while running great at the same time.

Settings are-
Vista 64 OS DX9 Mode+Ini Tweaks.
1680X1050 Application controlled AA and AF.
Textures-Very high using ini tweak
Water-Very high using ini tweak.
Sun shafts are turned on using ini tweaks and all other options are set to high.

None. AA takes far far to much of a perf hit with crysis, even just 2XAA.

The game fortunately looks better than most without any AA and is rather clean.

Its either a driver issue or we just need better GPU's. Probably both. LOL.

EDIT-Looks like you can run EDGE aa through the ini with less than 1fps hit. I will look into this.

Its better than no aa at all.

Didn't intend to make this sound like a self-pity party... just was hoping that maybe there was a little more performance on the horizon...

After more drivers and a couple of patches their probably will be. Be patient people.

For the time being just try and run it the way that I posted with my screens, you cannot tell me that it looks bad either.

I absolutely agree with Legend. People must stop being so vainglorious; we 8800GTX have been spoiled over the past year with not having to worry about maxing out the details and cranking up the resolution and FSAA, but we must realize that it's a year old GPU and we don't have that luxury anymore with such a foward scaled true nextgen title as Crysis. Afterall Crysis still looks great in DX9 all settings @ high with a couple of tweaks. Crysis is actually somewhat playable in 20-25 FPS, believe it or not, if you prioritize visual quality over a 30+ framerate. And people with less than a 8800GTX/GTS have to stop whining and accept they the medium settings as a good experience as well now they don't wanna dish up with the cash for a 8800 at least. My 2 cents

BTW this half-ranty speech was well meant and not pointed towards anyone specific or in this thread only, just a respons to a certain group of people having a certain consensus about the game

Very well said bro, and yes, Crysis is smoother at lower FPS than any other game I have ever played. Its kinda odd but its true.

30-40fps provides very smooth gameplay and as you can see by my screen shots I have the game looking and running great.

Legend how did you resize those screens btw? The Imageshack toolbar won't let me resize to other than 4:3 and 5:4 resolutions for some reason

Imageshack sucks. Use photobucket instead.
