Ok several months ago after a looong battle, I finally got my Apple Cinema display to work with my Ubuntu (x64) installtion on a GeForce 5500 card. Once I finally found this fourm (and some people who actually knew what they were talking about), my problem was solved relatively quickly, so this time, I am going to try starting here. (For those interested, here is my previous post which ended up fixing my problem the first time).
Anyway, I have upgraded to the latest Ubuntu release, and now X Windows will not start. I am attaching my nvidia-bug-report.log. nvidia-bug-report.log.gz Thanks in advance for any help! |

According to this bug report, you aborted the 100.14.19 installation. I don't see any indication that the driver was ever fully installed.

Yes, I considered installing 100.14.19 (this was just a few minutes ago, but the X Windows was not starting even before this aborted install), but I canceled the installation at the "are you sure you want to upgrade" prompt. It never did uninstall the older version. Should I go ahead and proceed with the upgrade of the driver?

100.14.19 is currently the only supported driver for your GPU.

Great, looks like that worked. I just wanted to get some 'expert' advice before I went ahead with any new drivers. Thanks again!
