Acer 4520 with Nvidia 7000M/610M GPU

Are there any linux drivers that work with Ubuntu 7.04.
By default the montherboard uses the VESA drivers at a lower resolution rather than the native resolution of 1200 x 800 which the GPU is capable of.
Please help as this is stopping me from using ubuntu 7.04

even though your chip is not explicitly mentioned as supported, trying out 100.14.11 driver probably won't hurt.

Unfortunately I had installed Ubuntu 7.04 AMD 64 edition and Envy to install the compatible driver. The envy program indicated no drivers available.
Would like to know if there is one in development or should I surrender and go with XP

I would still try to use .11 driver, it might work for you.
You can download a 64-bit version driver from the page linked by the second link.
I have tried envy myself with not much luck in the past and ended up doing driver installation the "normal" way.

A new issue has cropped up.

When I try to install unbuntu 7.04 32 or 64 bit version, it will not install and gives me an error message regarding the xorg and xserver .

The screen, there is no screen.

Would appreciate all the help.

driver to install = 100.14.19
webcam = cheese
wireless and wired = wicd
all these are available in the package manager
