It's nice to get a good 7 minutes of gameplay without stutters now.
Could that be due to not enough Vram?

Not sure. Leaning toward no, since the stutter issue was happening for people with even 2 x 8800 gtx's....

Furthermore, before and after the patch, the stutters stay in the same parts of the game and happen not matter how much I lower OR higher the settings

I was having a ball playing this, but the crashes are back again. I live for GoW and I really wanna play but on PC, but man. I can't for the life of me find the source of these crashes.

Guess I can always play it on 360... It's crap like this that almost turns a guy away from PC gaming... Almost. Playing FEAR right now. Right from the first through to Perseus Mandate.

It is, if you use highest texture setting, even high does it some times , i've read this review that said the 320mb verison it mem caped, but they tested the game at 1600x1200 resolution i play @ 1280x1024 and high textures, but still get those stutters (not always only when a new scene loads or saves), didn't update it yet though, i have to reinstall it again lol, but looks like its worth a shoot if it stutters less.

Don't have any problems now, yesterday I played a team deathmatch over live and it was very fun.

Have you tried co-op or multiplayer on Gears of War? Give that a shot before you sell it.

Well, now I cannot play at all.

Same problems that I heard about from tons of people, where it just crashes after maybe a minute of gameplay.

I am pretty disgusted actually.

I just wanted to let people know that I have got the game to work for me after loading the patch.

I turned DEP off in Vista 32 for all programs except critical windows components and services. I am curious if this helps anyone else that has the crashing problems just as you start the game or are in the menu.
