i remember before the ps2 lunch i had my preorder ticket, but the day before lunch i got my money back and order a top of the line video card for those days. since then im a pretentious snob. consoles are for kids and jocks and not for homosapiens. ikid ikid

Easily a high-end graphics card for me and I really don't care who makes it as long as it performs well and has good driver support. Right now, thats nVidia.

Video card, because I can play my old games smoother and with more eye candy than before, and most of the games library works out of the box. With consoles there are usually 1 or 2 hit launch titles and then a dearth for a few months.

with a new video card popping out every few months nowadays, I'd say game consoles. However I will say that the 8800GT's price really gives hope to the future of computer gaming, being more affordable than the average console..

But we have to wait for a year before we got them. Would be nice if they came out with the big guys. I know it wont happen, but it would be nice.

Yea it gives hope. Don't forget the other $800ish (minimum) to get the rest of the components.
