You should try khenaz's jungle map. It's small but pretty impressive visually. Also, natural mod 1.2 was just released today. The creator packaged it in an exe so you don't have to do much to install it anymore. It looks incredible. I prefer it quite a bit to the standard TOD settings. The first sunrise looks much better with natural mod IMO. Check it out if you get a chance. I believe the last series of screenshots that were posted from the single player game were from natural mod 1.1. If I get a chance I'll post a few screen shots. With my machine I'm able to run it with everything on "very high" at 1360x768, 2x edgeAA, and enhanced motion blur. I've got level precache on and texture streaming off because I've got more than enough ram.

Here are a few screen shots with Natural Mod 1.2. The game looks absolutely stunning on our living room TV. With Natural Mod you really get the feeling that it's morning and the sun is just coming up over the ocean. In the other shots it add a lot more depth to the scene with additional haze/fog and you really get the feeling that you are running through a dense forest/jungle the way the light is shimmering through the leaves. In general I think Natural Mod enhances the atmosphere of the game. When I get a little further in the game I'll take a few more screenshots.

I think this guy has done an amazing job with the TOD settings and made the game look much closer to some of the earlier pre-release shots/videos of the game. I'm not sure some of the enhancements are true to life, but I don't really care since, over all, I think it just makes the game look better.

FYI, all the shots were taken during actual gameplay. All effects are set to "very high". EdgeAA is 2x, texturestreaming is off, and I precache level is on since I have 4GB of ram. Oh and the r_motionblurshutterspeed is turned up to 0.09. I like it that way because it makes the game look very cinematic. All the shots are at 1280x720 exept for one which is at 1360x768. The slightly larger one was taken in fullscreen mode at my LCDTV's native resolution. For all the others I ran the game in windowed mode at 720p so I could quickly minimize the game and do a few other things. Enjoy.

yeah that mod looks nice in places, but at night time its pitch black, u cant see a thing. not even sure if this is realistic, u would think the moon would give off some degree of light. but even if it is more representitive of night time in this type of environment, it negatively affects gameplay since the ai isnt tuned for it. also he adds way too much fog in some of the levels, relic for one.

Yeah I agree with regards to the night settings. Actually, I don't mind that it's dark, but I does bother me that the moon just looks like a paper cutout in the sky that's not reflecting any light at all. He turns off the god rays at night too. Everything that I love about the day effects in his mod, for some reason he turns off at night. I don't get it.

It's a very good mod. The shadowing is a bit light, so I had to use the ultra tweak. But everything just looks more vibrant.

Other than Natural Mod 1.2, I just have r_mtionblurshutterspeed at 0.09, texture streaming off, and edgeAA at 2x. Other than those few things everything is set to DX10 "very high."

You're crazy! I had a headache and almost vomited after a few minutes at .06. For me .04 was the best.

The 288meg installer. It also uses its own system.cfg and backs up your old one. I didn't like theirs so I went back to mine.
