hi,
i have two 21" viewsonic lcd-panels both connected to an 8600gt card via dvi. one panel can't "tell" his EDID-settings so it isn't recognized correctly by the nvidia-driver anymore. after checking the Xorg.0.log i got these lines: Code:
(II) NVIDIA(0): Frequency information for ViewSonic VP2130 SERIES (DFP-0): (II) NVIDIA(0): HorizSync : 30.000-92.000 kHz (II) NVIDIA(0): VertRefresh : 50.000-75.000 Hz (II) NVIDIA(0): (HorizSync from EDID) (II) NVIDIA(0): (VertRefresh from EDID) (II) NVIDIA(0): (II) NVIDIA(0): Native backend timings for ViewSonic VP2130 SERIES (DFP-0): (II) NVIDIA(0): 1600 x 1200 @ 60 Hz (II) NVIDIA(0): Pixel Clock : 162.00 MHz (II) NVIDIA(0): HRes, HSyncStart : 1600, 1664 (II) NVIDIA(0): HSyncEnd, HTotal : 1856, 2160 (II) NVIDIA(0): VRes, VSyncStart : 1200, 1201 (II) NVIDIA(0): VSyncEnd, VTotal : 1204, 1250 (II) NVIDIA(0): H/V Polarity : +/+ but these are the lines for the second panel: Code:
(II) NVIDIA(0): Frequency information for DFP-1: (II) NVIDIA(0): HorizSync : 30.000-92.000 kHz (II) NVIDIA(0): VertRefresh : 50.000-75.000 Hz (II) NVIDIA(0): (HorizSync from SecondMonitorHorizSync X Config Option) (II) NVIDIA(0): (VertRefresh from SecondMonitorVertRefresh X Config (II) NVIDIA(0): Option) (II) NVIDIA(0): (II) NVIDIA(0): Native backend timings for DFP-1: (II) NVIDIA(0): 640 x 480 @ 60 Hz (II) NVIDIA(0): Pixel Clock : 25.18 MHz (II) NVIDIA(0): HRes, HSyncStart : 640, 656 (II) NVIDIA(0): HSyncEnd, HTotal : 752, 800 (II) NVIDIA(0): VRes, VSyncStart : 480, 490 (II) NVIDIA(0): VSyncEnd, VTotal : 492, 525 (II) NVIDIA(0): H/V Polarity : +/+ i tried these options, but without success: Code:
Option "UseEdidFreqs" "false"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
Option "ModeValidation" "DFP-1: NoEdidDFPMaxSizeCheck"

is there really no solution to get this display working with xorg without the "resolution-checking"?
with windows i can use both displays with native resolution via dvi although one panel isn't "edid-talking" anymore. (this display was recognized as "standard monitor") but how want's to use windows ...??? ![]() |
