He may have meant some of the level design of a few interior maps. The textures are great but some indoor areas are not as inspired in design as say the core and other nice interior levels. The subways don't seem very interesting in design for example. I don't mind it that much because you have the core and other cool looking inside areas like a few huge labs or industrial rooms. Awesomely cavernous in their scope. Like others have said you need to take the time to advance further in the game for better gameplay. Same may apply to graphics too. And the outdoors areas, stunning of course.

Or maybe he was being sarcastic, meant the opposite, and is waiting for someone to post as such.

I fully agree with all of that. Some locations are not very inspiring while others are just jaw dropping.

So back to FSAA and Aniso.

Do these work or not?

Played the demo. Liked it. Bought the game.

I can verify neither FSAA or Aniso work in this game. There is no in game FSAA setting but forcing it in control panel does nothing. I see there is an FSAA setting in the .ini but setting it there does nothing either.

There is an in game Aniso setting but setting it doesn't do anything. Reminds me of BlackSite Area 51 that has an ingame FSAA setting but it doesn't work either. What's up with these games that have ingame settings that don't work? Two patches for Timeshift and the in game Aniso setting still isn't fixed. BlackSite also had two patches and its ingame FSAA setting still doesn't work. Seems the quality control in games these days isn't much to talk about.

Other than that, I like the game.

This game is interesting.

Specifically regarding Aniso and FSAA.

While there seems to be some issues with FSAA, the game itself must be doing some edge smoothing of it's own because the jaggies are hardly noticeable at all. I have to look really hard to see any at all. For example, the chainlink fences have no jaggies. One time I was in a vent and looking into a room where there was a cable running down into the room. Not one single jaggie on it. If I look hard enough I can see some minute jaggies sometimes on some upright edges but I wouldn't notice it unless I just stood still a minute and really looked. Whatever this game is doing regarding edge smoothing it's quite effective. The same whether forcing control panel or not.

Aniso is also kind of strange. Sometimes the floor ahead is blurred when it shouldn't be (if Aniso was working) but in other areas the floors are not blurry ahead. Can't quite figure out what's going on. I went to the Sierra Timeshift forum and I didn't see anyone mention Aniso at all. Apparently no one has noticed.

I actually quite like this game. It came out of no where (at least for me it did) and it turned out to be a nice treat for me. Very nice visuals and effects. Passable voice acting. Game runs very smooth with no crashes of any kind so far. Nice 5.1 sound. In game settings are plentiful which is quite nice to see. One of my favorite settings is the in game ability to turn off HDR completely. Damn I wish all other games had this option. I HATE HDR, Bloom, Depth of Field and Blur. Other gamer's can have all that fluff, I am quite happy (over joyed in fact) without any of it. It's very nice to have a game that allows the player to play it the way he wants to instead of having all that stuff crammed down your throat.

I just got this game today for $29.99. I am pretty bored with what I have so I decided to give this game a shot. So far I have played about 3 hours of this game and I must say its a blast The graphics IMO look amazing... probably some of the better graphics I have seen out of a game. Whats also nice is I can run this thing on the highest possible settings at 1920x1200 with 16xAF and its smooth as silk! A great game... if you have not played it I suggest you pick it up! While the lack of AA kind of sucks.. at 1920x1200 I dont even notice

This game was great. Yea, it felt like a mish mash of many games at times, but the time shifting was cool, and they didnt over do the "puzzle" solving with it.

This game casually waded through all the hyped games and IMO turned out to be a lot funner then quite a few of them.
