Default Ghost windows (leftover transparent window border)

Hi,
I'm on a Sony Vaio VGN-SX series with a nvidia 7400 on board.

Everything works wonderfully except one small problem that happens every now and then. Basically, its after a tooltip fades away, a ghost outline of the window is left and visible on all desktops.

Anyone know of a quick fix for this or should i generate a detailed bug report?

thanks!

You mean you can switch desktops and the "ghost windows" appear on top of whatever is on that desktop? Sounds like a bug in your desktop environment to me.

Yes, the ghost window is shown on all desktops, even while switching.
I'm using Gnome and FC7. The problem only started after enabling Compiz Fusion. Could it be a bug with COmpiz Fusion?

I suppose, though that seems unlikely.

Any update on this I am getting the same issue. Pretty sure is a bug in compiz-fusion. Switching to the default window manager and back to compiz-fusion will fix for me, but is frustrating to have to do that

Hey guys,
This is a problem that I have experienced also.
There seems to be no solution at this point. I have already talked with compiz-fusion developers about this and although they have read bug reports none of them have actually seen or experienced this.
I am still trying to find a solution, perhaps a setting in xorg.conf, but to this point nothing.
We do have this report on the compiz fuison forum and I could not offer a solution there either, at least not yet.
one of the big problems is that it seems very random and I havent been able to track it down.
