My Crysis demo crashed when loading the game, but the retail version worked fine in x64 for me... don't know what to tell you, Mr Scary Clown.

Maybe, the first thing I did when I got the retail was delete that buggy demo.

Found a few solutions in these links that apparently worked for some to fix the "crash at launch with 64-bit" problems.

I did everything in the toms hardware link and it . . . worked!!

I'm not sure why running the benchmark fixes it, but hey its working so I'm not complaining. I probably would've never figured it out though, its so bizarre. much appreciated, agentkay.

Just messing with AA last night. It would seem I can can enable 4x AA with no loss of FPS at all . In fact it seems to run a little smoother. The only problem is it seems to disable something (texture filtering?) as the textures on some of the hills are blury in places, but it's worth it for the AA!

Anyone else get this?

BTW, AA is working for deffo. Edges FAR smoother everywhere.

CryTek Interview 14th Dec 2007

http://planetcrysis.gamespy.com/View...es.Detail&id=3

Quote:
Crytek recently announced the first patch for the game is coming soon. Will these patches be very frequent or more spaced out like other games tend to be?

Alex: We don’t have a specific plan how many patches we want to release and when they are going to be sent out. We try to gather as much feedback as possible from the whole community and see what we can fix and/or add in one of the patches. Currently we are working on two patches, whereas the first one is scheduled to be released within the next few weeks and will address mainly performance issues. The second patch will be a content patch that addresses Singleplayer issues and of course Multiplayer bugs and suggestions the community already reported during the beta. In addition we will bring more balancing to the weaponry in Multiplayer and also add a few new features that have been requested by the community.

Have you found graphic card manufactures to be quick on addressing any shortcomings with drivers in terms of Crysis?

Well, I finally beat Crysis now that my exams are over!! Overall I'd say it was a really good game. But I definitely enjoyed the first 3/4 way more than the last few levels. Up until the one where you're inside the thinger in zero gravity. After that it's just a typical FPS....run and gun is the only way to do it.
